WebShpere Commerce Feature Pack Install fails

Why does the WS-WCFeaturePack1 install insert additional "\" characters in the "-OPT installLocation=" property in the responsefile.txt file. For example, -OPT installLocation="C:\WCToolkitEE60" becomes installLocation=C\:\\WCToolkitEE60 and I get the following error message (Windows)

C:\temp\WS-WCFeaturePack1>install.bat -options C:/temp/WS-WCFeaturePack1/respons
efile.txt -silent

I Install Type: nonOS400
I Install Mode: silentMode
I #Received OPT Properties
#Mon Jan 22 18:26:41 EST 2007
silentInstallLicenseAcceptance=true
installLocation=C\:\\WCToolkitEE60

Installation failed with return code: 1. Please check the log file C:\WCToolkitE
E60\logs\FEP1\install\log.txt for details.

This has not happened on any our installs. Your not trying to install on
Vista are you?

I am using Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Is there a differnect version of the Feature Pack I should use?
